The Memorial will be installed at Capital Plaza in Tallahassee Fla. when the site is ready.There were Covid related delays.The Memorial is of 3 boys, the center boy, having just been beaten. The man standing looking up at the boys is Joe. The plaque in Joe's hand says-Hi I'm Joe, Thats me up there in the middle when i was 12. I was sent to Dozier School when I as 12 yrs old for truancy. ...The plaque goes on to give his personal account of the mistreatment he endured. The actual figures in the memorial have been sculpted and are in the foundry.The clay sculptures are shown below just before completion.
